Boomers beating the booze!
Sober curious?

If you were born between 1946 and 1964 (or thereabouts) then you are part of a generation brought up with the idea that alcohol is simply part of the fabric of life. Bombarded for decades with marketing campaigns glamorising booze, alcohol has been the one drug which we apparently have to jusify not taking, for fear of being seen as a bit odd! There is only so far claiming to be pregnant or being on antibiotics can go!

Whether you have had a great day or a bad one, whether you are celebrating or commiserating, whether you have reached a particular milestone in life, whether you are concluding a deal or celebrating retirement, whether you are lonely or overwhelmed, booze has always apparently been the answer!

But is it…..?

As we get older we may have more time on our hands, we are not so constrained by the usual schedules which work and family life demand. So drinking can be an easy habit. But longer and longer hangovers, health ambitions and a desire to be alert and present matters more.

You may be curious whether there is an alternative way to punctuate your day, week or life. I was and 5 years ago I stopped relying on will power and developed a range of tools and techniques to ditch the booze.

Still curious?
